Translation Contest “Word of Fiction in World Culture”

Students of higher educational institutions and senior pupils (future applicants) are eligible to participate.

The Department of Germanic and Romance Philology and Translation of the School of Philology of Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University is holding the All-Ukrainian Student Translation Contest Word of Fiction in World Culture to take place within the framework of the linguоcultural project Translation as a Phenomenon of Cognition and Culture.

Students of higher educational institutions and senior pupils (future applicants) are eligible to participate.

The contest is held in the following nominations:

  • Nomination 1 – best translation of a poetry piece from English into Ukrainian.
  • Nomination 2 – best translation of a poetry piece from English into Russian.
  • Nomination 3 – best translation of a poetry piece from French into Ukrainian.
  • Nomination 4 – best translation of a poetry piece from French into Russian.
  • Nomination 5 – best translation of a poetry piece from German into Ukrainian.
  • Nomination 6 – best translation of a poetry piece from German into Russian.
  • Nomination 7 – best translation of a poetry piece from Ukrainian into English.
  • Nomination 8 – best translation of a poetry piece from Ukrainian into French.
  • Nomination 9 – best translation of a poetry piece from Ukrainian into German.

Participation is possible in any number of nominations. For that, you are to submit a separate application for each of nominations.

Works for the contest are accepted up until April 20, 2016.

Winners will be published on Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University website and contacted.

The awarding of the winners will take place on May 25, 2016.
