Inter-University Seminar on Distance Higher Education

Guest of the Workshop: Tetiana Pylaieva, lecturer of the Department of Foreign Languages, Ukrainian State Academy of Railway Transport.

On March 5, 2015 the Department of English Translation Theory and Practice held an Inter-University Methodical Seminar Academic and Methodical Support and Pedagogical Follow-Up of Students in the System of Higher Distance Education of Great Britain and Ukraine.

Our guest, Tetiana Pylaieva, a lecturer at the Department of Foreign Languages of the Ukrainian State Academy of Railway Transport, told those present about the distance education system in Great Britain using the Open University as an example.

The seminar went on with reports made by Associate Professors of the Department of English Translation Theory and Practice Nataliia Kovalchuk and Tetiana Lukianova who outlined the peculiarities of distance education training at our University.

The reports aroused great interest among all those present resulting in a vivid debate as distance education implementation is gradually taking place in many educational institutions of Ukraine.
