Linguistic Seminar

Discussing the thesis research.

On April 26, 2016, the School of Foreign Languages held the joint meeting of its Departments called the Linguistic Seminar.

The attendees lively discussed the Ph.D. theses of:

  • Iryna Panchenko “Implicit Addressee Reference in Modern German Discourse: Structural, Semantic and Linguo-Pragmatic Aspects” (research advisor: Doctor of Philology, Professor Liliia Bezuhla; reviewers: Doctor of Philology, Professor Alla Martyniuk, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor Serhii Kryvoruchko).
  • Alina Ponikarova “Argumentative and Suggestive Potential of Complex Syntax of English Political Discourse” (research advisor: Doctor of Philology, Professor Alla Martyniuk; reviewers: Doctor of Philology, Professor Olena Morozova, and PhD in Philology, Associate Professor Emiliia Papoviants).
  • Iryna Kholmohortseva “Dialogical Relations of British Folk Play Genre (research advisor: Doctor of Philology, Professor Viktoriia Samokhina; reviewers: Doctor of Philology, Professor Lidiia Pikhtovnikova, PhD in Philology, Professor Tamara Tymoshenkova).

The research papers were supported and recommended for submission to the Thesis Committee upon revision of certain points.
