Literary Translation Contest: Winners Announced

Congratulations to the winners, and wishes of creative inspiration!


V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University has announced the winners of the contest for the best literary translation. The contest took place on the initiative of the Department of English Translation Theory and Practice.The contest participants were students of Karazin University and other higher educational institutions of the city and the country, as well as pupils from Ukrainian secondary schools. In general, there were 101 works submitted for the contest.

The jury consisted of the Dean of the School of Foreign Languages,Valentyna Pasynok (Head), the Head of the Department of English Translation Theory and Practice Oleksandr Rebrii (Deputy Head), the associate professors of the Department of English Translation Theory and Practice Oleksandr Kalnychenko, Kamilla Voronina, Tetyana Lukyanova, and its lecturers Daria Kaisina and Hanna Tashchenko.

The awarding ceremony is to be held within the IX International Scientific Conference “Current Problems in Translation Studies and Translation Teaching Methods” during the round table of translators of fiction literature to take place at Karazin University at 1:25 PM on April 21, 2017 (room 7-57, 7th floor, 4 Svobody Sq., Kharkiv, 61022, Ukraine).

The award certificates will be sent by e-mail or the winners can receive them at the Department of English Translation Theory and Practice of Karazin University (room 7-76, 7th floor), every Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM (from April 28 through May 26).
