The Department of Business Foreign Language and Translation was established in 2001 for specialized training in foreign languages under Bachelor's and Master's degree programs at the School of Economics, late renamed into the School of International Economic Relations and Travel Business. The Department provides training in the English, German, and French languages of professional communication and translation.
The faculty members of the Department, headed by Doctor of Philology, Full Professor, Academician of the Higher School Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Iryna Shevchenko, are graduates from scientific exchange programs conducted by universities of the USA, France, Great Britain, Germany as well as foreign lecturers, who are native speakers. The Department offers an opportunity to obtain a higher qualification by providing postgraduate training in the major of 10.02.04 – Germanic Languages. The scope of scientific interests covers philology, foreign languages teaching methods, psychology.
