The Department of German Philology and Translation is holding the III All-Ukrainian Science Conference of Germanists (with international participation) "Germanic Studies in the XXI Century: Cognitive, Socio- and Pragmalinguistics" to be hosted by the School of Foreign Languages on April 5, 2014.
Conference topics:
Cognitive linguistics of the XXI century: concepts, cognitive metaphors, frame modeling, picture of the world.
Discourses of the XXI century: Internet, media, advertising, PR, political discourse.
Marginal speech of the XXI century: young people's slang, professional jargon, gender peculiarities of speech.
Pragmalinguistics of the XXI century: speech acts, discourse strategies and tactics, indirect communication.
Study of literature in the XXI century: historical discourse, post-colonial criticism, gender studies.
Conference languages: Russian, Ukrainian, West European.
A compendium of abstracts of reports will come out before the beginning of the conference (possible mailing of the compendia).
