The basic principles in the basis of building high-quality test tasks are determined!
Workshop "Promoting Accurate Assessment of Writing" (4 hours)
The first part of the workshop will update the participants on such theoretical issues as purpose, construct and specifications of writing tests. The participants will further draw on their prior knowledge and teaching practice to determine the principles underlying the construction of quality test tasks. They will gain a first-hand experience of selecting the criteria to test writing in specific settings as well as developing rating scales. They will trial their rating scales by scoring sample papers and take away guidelines on implementing accurate assessment of students’ work.
