Karazin University held ceremonial initiation of the first-year students into Karazin University studentry.
On August 30, 2013 V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University held ceremonial initiation of the first-year students into studentry with participation of University President Vil Bakirov, Vice-Presidents, deans of the Schools and the guest of honor, father superior of the St. Panteleimon Cathedral Mykolai.
Professor Valentyna Pasynok, Dean of the School of Foreign Languages, congratulated the new generation of Karazinites on behalf of the University faculty: “Karazin University is the most worthy and prestigious university. You have made a wonderful choice by joining Karazin University community.”
As is the tradition, the first-year students honored the memory of the University founder by laying flowers to the Monument to Vasyl Karazin and lit the Fire of Knowledge near the Monument to Vasyl Karazin as a symbol of aspirations and thirst for knowledge.
The ceremony was closed with the student anthem “Gaudeāmus” performed by the University Chorus.
