  • 1988 — department assistant, Department of German Philology, Kharkiv State University;
  • November 1988 through December 1993 — lecturer, Department of German Philology;
  • 1993–1996 — postgraduate student, Kharkiv State University. Upon completion worked as a lecturer at the Department of German Philology;
  • since May 1998 — associate professor, Department of German Philology and Translation, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.

Theses Defended:

  • PhD thesis: Language means of comic In German folk tales (1997). Speciality 10.02.04 – “Germanic languages”.

Research Interests:
German stylistics, text linguistics, lingvofolkloristics, German teaching methodology

  • Practical German (fourth-year students);
  • German Stylistics;
  • Comparative Stylistics (36 hours — for full-time students, 18 hours — for part-time students);
  • Special Course in Text Linguistics (13 hours).
