Studying Contemporary Literature of Foreign Countries in Theater

Students of the School attended Claude Magnier’s play Blaise within Professor Svitlana Kryvoruchko’s special course

Night. Street. Lamp… Drugstore? Not at all. More likely Shevchenko Theater and the famous play by Claude Magnier Blaise attended by the fourth- and fifth-year students from the French Division of the School of Foreign Languages.

Are you tired of dullness of life? It seems so monotonous that you can’t stand it any longer? Do you want some pleasant surprises? There is a solution! Only the School of Foreign Languages, namely within the framework of the special course “Modern Literature of Foreign Countries at the turn of the XX – Early XXI Centuries” by Svitlana Kryvoruchko (Head of the Department of Romance Philology and Translation), you can not only learn something new but also enjoy yourselves. What other School could so easily manage to interweave studies and entertainment, watch an interesting play while studying?

And now a few words about the play itself. It can easily win everybody's heart, and we were not left unimpressed. Every actor putting their heart into it, nice decorations, ZAZ mood music, and and the unforgettable French flavor created the atmosphere Claude Magnier wanted to render. We would also like to tell about the play of each actor, but it is better to see it with your own eyes — satisfaction guaranteed! What makes the play so original? A few magic words: theater of the absurd. The suspense comedy in two acts was at times really poignant, and the absurdity of the situation, the paradox enhanced its unique touch. Is this play worth seeing? Sure, it is! But, rationalists and those looking for sense, beware: it is well veiled. An incredible love story, so desired and sincere, will unravel before your eye in the brightest colors. What is required of the spectator is thirst for adventures and a sense of humor, and the actors will take care of the good mood. So, fasten your belts to plunge into this new world!

P.S. Do not try recreating what you have seen.
