Day of School of Foreign Languages: Updated with Video

Day of School of Foreign Languages: Updated with Video

The School's got talent!

On April 22, 2014, Karazin University held a long-awaited new production of the Les Miserables musical based on Victor Hugo’s novel. The performance was dedicated to the Day of the School of Foreign Languages, but the concert hall was filled with many guests from other schools and institutions.

Each step, breath, note, and color evoked sympathy and heartfelt emotions. The historical events in the spirit of that time were vividly portrayed on the stage, with the setting adding plausibility. This English version brought to life by 2nd-5th-year students repeatedly drew loud applause and at the end of the performance the audience gave a standing ovation to the actors.

We would like to thank all the participants and congratulate the School of Foreign Languages once again!

For reference. Les Miserablesis is a story of broken hopes, unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption. The events unfold in France in the ХІХ century. The topics Victor Hugo’s novel touches upon are relevant at all times: all-conquering love between young man and girl, father and daughter, mother’s love for her child, love of the Motherland and its people, love of God, fight for freedom and happiness as well as bone-deep life-long faith.
