the German Section of the XXIII Student Scientific Conference “Karazin Readings. Foreign Philology: Young Researchers’ Pursuit” was held at the School of Foreign Languages

​On November 19, 2025, the German Section of the XXIII Student Scientific Conference “Karazin Readings. Foreign Philology: Young Researchers’ Pursuit” was held at the School of Foreign Languages of V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University.

Participants presented a wide range of research topics covering German language teaching methodology, linguistic text analysis, translation studies, and contemporary discourse research. The presentations addressed issues such as developing translation skills among university students, the use of multimedia tools for enhancing lexical competence, and methodological approaches to improving speaking skills through adapted learning materials.

Another group of papers focused on linguistic and stylistic phenomena: wordplay based on homonymy, compositional and stylistic features of Wilhelm Hauff’s fairy tales, interpretation of short literary forms and their methodological potential. The session also included studies on intertextuality in political discourse, representations of ecological themes in German-language advertising, and the reflection of Ukrainian realia in modern German-language journalistic texts.

The meeting concluded with an engaging discussion and a summary of the section’s results by the examination committee.
