Congratulations on the holiday and wishes of creative inspiration and enthusiasm!
The World Poetry Day is celebrated annually on March 21. The holiday was declared at the General Conference of the UNESCO session in 1999 to pay public attention to the poetic heritage as a universal means of expressing public opinion which enables the establishment of a dialogue between different cultures.
The purpose of the holiday is to promote the development of poetry, return to the tradition of poetry readings, as well as shaping, in the media, of a positive image of verbal artistic expression as a truly contemporary art open for people.
There are many famous and talented poets among Karazin University alumni: Petro Hulak-Artemovsky, Yakiv Shchoholev, Volodymyr Sosiura, Nikolai Aseev, Pyotr Veinberg, Vasyl Mysyk, Boris Chichibabin, Ihor Muratov and others whose poetry is relevant at all times.
There are also our contemporaries among talented Karazin University poets, in particular, Associate Dean for Teaching Methods and Innovation, Associate Professor of the Department of English Philology of the School of Foreign Languages, Tatyana Varenko, who was awarded a silver medal in the Best Science Fiction/Fantasy nomination of the international literary contest Feathered Quill Book Awards for her cross-genre novel in verse in English Elfineness.
Congratulations on the holiday and wishes of creative inspiration and enthusiasm!
