A famous translator, linguist, poet of Ukraine gives two lectures on translation studies for faculty and students.
On December 5, 2013 Serhii Tkachenko, prominent translator, linguist, poet and member of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine, gave two public lectures at Karazin University.
This event took place within the framework of Serhii Tkachenko's public lecture tour about Ukrainian universities (Kyiv National Linguistic University, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Ternopil National University). The lectures were entitled Structural and Stylistic Problems of Translating International Organization Documents and Cognitive and Pragmatic Problems of Translating International Organization Documents and gave an opportunity to students, faculty members and everyone interested to learn the author’s opinion on topical issues of translation studies.
The Department of English Translation Theory and Practice took the occasion to hold a solemn ceremony of awarding prizes to the winners of the University Round of the All-Ukrainian Translation Contest held on November 16-20, 2013.
