The annual student research seminar "Bachelor's Readings: Young Researchers"

The annual student research seminar "Bachelor's Readings: Young Researchers" with a discussion of bachelor's course projects was held at the German section of the Romance and Germanic Philology Department in the format of ZOOM conferences on 27 March 2024.

There were 2 sections: "Linguopragmatics and Grammar of the German Language" (section moderator: Doctor of Philology, Professor Liliia Bezugla) and "Text and Translation" (section moderator: Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor Nataliia Onishchenko). In total, 16 students spoke, and in addition to the moderators, the sections were attended by supervisors, leading scholars of the department, and 3rd year students.

The presentations were distinguished by a wide range of topics, relevance, and compliance with the prevailing scientific paradigms. Section 1 was dominated by papers on linguopragmatics, multimodality, and syntax issues. In Section 2, most of the papers dealt with the semantics and functioning of quotations and stylistic figures in different types of texts and discourses. The specific of this year’s seminar was the shift of the research focus to the aspect of translation.
