Ianina KOVALEVSKA

Lecturer at the Department of English Philology.

Education:

  • 2005 — graduation with distinction from V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Department of Structural and Applied Linguistics (School of Philology); received a Master’s diploma in the speciality Applied Linguistics, gained the qualification of philologist, lecturer of English, Higher Mathematics and Informatics, English interpreter/translator, programmer, fluency in English and German. Defended the Diploma thesis in English “Intertextuality of Advertising Discourse in the Space of Different European Countries of the Postmodernism Period” (scientific supervisor: Volodymyr Hutorov, PhD in Philology/Linguistics, Associate Professor).

Professional Career:

  • since 2007 — lecturer of the course of English at the Linguistic Center, School of Foreign Languages, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University;
  • 2011-2013 — senior lab at the Department of English Philology, School of Foreign Languages, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University
  • since 2012 — lecturer at the Department of English Philology, School of Foreign Languages, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University
  • since 2014 — degree-seeker at the Department of English Philology, School of Foreign Languages, V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University (scientific supervisor: Viktoriia Samokhina, PhD in Philology/Linguistics, Full Professor, Academician of the Higher School Academy of Sciences of Ukraine).

Research Interests:

  • discourse analysis, functional and communicative text stylistics;
  • working on the Ph.D thesis “Modern American Satirical and Sarcastic Discourse (based on the materials of on-line editions)”.

Teaching:

  • Analytical Reading, Speech Practice, Home Reading for third-year students.
